PLEASE HELP
Last night I accidentally closed my laptop with my external hard drive still connected. I reopened it and my computer just went wild, freezing and generally going all wrong so in my panic that it would affect the HD I pulled it out and now this morning the HD isn’t connecting to the computer although it is on and is lit up, as far as the computer is concerned it isn’t connected at all. The HD is also making a funny beeping noise, I can hear the disc spinning and then a beep every so often and then it just goes quiet but the light is still on.
Im really really worried i’ve lost EVERYTHING. I’ve never had a problem with it before.
Can anyone help?

Grafting at uni. Sick of the sight of my work now. Waiting for a tutorial that will possibly never ever happen. Sigh. Thank god for iPods though, the only reason I haven’t gone mad or killed someone out of boredom. Todays playlist includes - The Breeders, Beyonce and Cheryl Cole, amongst others.
